1. We are serving pancakes (soup, grilled cheese, hot dogs, snow cones, etc) to the public at our theme camp. Do we need certification?
If you plan to make and give away food or drinks on the playa, or if you are cooking for more than 125 of your fellow campmates at once, you need a temporary food service permit from the Central Nevada Health District (CNHD). For more information about food safety on the playa, including an application for a food permit, visit https://www.centralnevadahd.org/burning-man-landing-page/
2. How much fuel can we store at our theme camp?
No more than 110 gallons, or two 55 gallon drums, may be stored in a camp at one time. This does not include fuel in generators that comply with safety radius requirements.
You must comply with all requirements regarding transportation of and secondary containment for stored fuel and be prepared to remediate any fuel spills that occur.
