Once you purchase a Burner Express Bus ticket, you will receive information about the trash and recycling program. Plan to reduce your amount of waste as much as possible and follow the Leave No Trace principle. All of Burning Man’s 10 Principles can be found here.

The Burner Express will handle properly sorted trash and co-mingled recycling for passenger departing Black Rock City via the Burner Express. Passengers arriving via Burner Express but departing in a private vehicle are expected to leave no trace and remove their own waste from BRC. 

The Burner Express will only accept trash and recycling in our branded BxB trash/recycling bags. You can claim these upon arrival in BRC or at the BxB Bus Depot at 6:15 & J during depot hours. Riders are limited to one trash and one recycling bag per passenger.
