While your order is subject to the terms you accepted when you made your purchase, and those terms have always stated that tickets are nonrefundable “for any reason,” we recognize this is a difficult time for many and we are committed to providing refunds to buyers who need them.
We start spending money on the next Black Rock City at the beginning of the year a full 9 months before it happens — for contracts, staffing, permits, etc. So due to the complexity and unique nature of our event, we have already spent a portion of the funds from tickets sold. That means that while Burning Man Project is committed to making refunds available, we do so at serious financial risk. Black Rock City and Burning Man Project accept no outside sponsorships, and ticket sales have been the primary source of revenue to fund the organization and produce the event. We humbly ask any who are able to consider donating all or a portion of their ticket order to help Burning Man Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
