The Directed Group Sale (DGS) is a ticket sale intended to help pre-identified, collaborative groups (such as theme camps) get access to tickets for their critical team members so that they can begin planning their projects. Access to this sale is by invitation only. These are not free tickets–just access to purchase tickets separately from the main ticket sale.
DGS ticket allocations from the Placement Department are intended for placed theme camps and villages. The Department of Mutant Vehicles provides DGS access to mutant vehicles, and the Art Department for artists.
Placement determines DGS allocations for placed theme camps and villages each year. In order to be eligible, placed theme camps and villages are required to be in Good Standing at minimum. Because of limited supply, DGS allocations are not intended to provide tickets for the full population of each camp, but rather the core members of camps.
Placement will be determining a new practice for allocating DGS tickets beginning in 2022. Please read this Burning Man Journal post on how DGS was allocated in 2020 and this Burning Man Journal post about the reasons leading to this.
